A Fall Scene

Today’s card was inspired by the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge (FabFri49), a very versatile sketch that includes double banners!   My card is basically the same as the sketch; however, I moved the elements from the right side to the left side of the card:
Season of Giving - FabFri49

  • Fall colored leaves and a pumpkin create the perfect Fall scene.   Images came from the White Christmas, Holiday Invitation, and Project Life Holiday Cheer stamp sets.
  • Endless Wishes and the Thanks is for Giving single stamp (retired) were combined to create the sentiment – Season of Giving.

I hope you enjoyed a peek at Fall.  Thanks for visiting.  Enjoy, and happy stamping!

Fall for Challenges

Today’s card is inspired by 2 challenges: a sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches (FMS152) and a color challenge from Pals Paper Arts (PPA218).
Hello Fall for PPA218 and FMS152

  • Leaves from the Fall Fest stamp set were stamped in Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, and Crumb Cake on Whisper White to form a frame.
  • To form the fall swag I stamped 2 leaves in Hello Honey and cut them out with the matching framelits – easy peasy.
  • The acorn, inspired by the piece of Color Me Autumn DSP, was stamped in Crumb Cake, fussy-cut, and placed on top of the leaves to form the fall swag.  I think I went a bit overboard with the Fall theme, but I do love it.

Hope you are enjoying a beautiful fall. Enjoy, and happy stamping!

Hello Fall x 2

It is beginning to feel like Fall on the island with the days getting shorter and the nights getting cooler.  This inspired me to create a Fall card.  I ended up creating one card for two challenges!  The two challenges are: Create with Connie & Mary CCMC318 – a color challenge – and Pals Paper Arts PPA217 – a sketch challenge.

Here’s the card:

CCMC318 & PPA217

  • The color combination of Hello Honey, Pool Party, and Basic Gray are perfect for a Fall card.
  • A layer of Very Vanilla was stamped with the Hardwood stamp using Basic Gray to provide the perfect background and reinforce the theme.
  • The fussy-cut wheat image was mounted on top of a Pool Party circle to become the focal point of the card.

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy, and happy stamping!

Happy Together!

A perfect sentiment for the anniversary card I made for my husband.  I wanted to keep it clean, simple, and masculine – do you think I succeeded?

Happy Together - Happy Anniversary!

Happy Together – Happy Anniversary!

  • Two white hearts stamped in Elegant Eggplant are perfect for an anniversary card – but still allow it to be masculine, not too “girly”
  • A small heart stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe adds a “pop” of color
  • Happy together says it all.  Even after all these years he’s still the one that makes me laugh and makes me happy

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy, and happy stamping!

Stamps – Hearts a Flutter, A Dozen Thoughts; Ink - Elegant Eggplant, Crisp Cantaloupe, Paper - Smoky Slate, Whisper White; Accessories – Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Modern Label Punch

Make a Wish Birthday Boy

My son’s birthday is this month and I wanted to make him a special card.

Make a Wish

  • The candle from Cycle Celebration was stamped off first and then stamped onto a piece of Whisper White
  • The frame was made using the Banner Framelits
  • Make A Wish is the perfect sentiment to go with birthday candles

Wishing my son a very happy birthday and a wonderful year.

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy

Stamps – Cycle Celebration, Perfect Pennants; Ink – Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe Chocolate Chip; Paper – Soft Sky, Crisp Cantaloupe, 2013-2015 In Colors DSP

Ahoy

When you live on an island nautical terms tend to make their way into your vocabulary. Ahoy is now my way of saying “hello” and “welcome” so it was only fitting that I made a banner to share with my guests.

Ahoy Banner

  • Each pennant is made using Stampin’ Up!’s 12×12 Kraft Paper – my new favorite!  It is the perfect weight for banners and it cuts beautifully using a Cricut.

Ahoy Banner Detail

  • A ship’s helm takes center stage on each banner and functions as a landing spot for each letter.
  • A circle of Calypso Coral adds a “pop” of color to the banner background of Coastal Cabana DSP

I love banners hanging from my fireplace all year round.  This one will be doing double-duty as I will simply flip each pennant over and create a FALL banner.

Enjoy the rest of your summer.  Thanks for stopping by.

Friends and Fun

I wanted to create a card to send to all of my fellow team members who went to convention.  I decided to use one of the stamp sets we received free at the convention.

Happy Birthday, Sabrina

I moved to San Juan island last year and have been meeting new people, new friends. Today is one of my new friend’s birthday – what better way to wish her a very happy birthday than with a handmade card.

Happy Birthday, Sabrina

The Endless Birthday Wishes stamp is so versatile and provides so many wonderful sentiments
⇒ Banners imply “party” and “celebration” to me, and the new Banners framelits makes it easy to add this festive touch to your card
⇒ Simply replace the Create-a-Cupcake (retired) stamp set with the new Cupcake Party stamp set to achieve the same look

Happy crafting!

2014 Convention Swap

Last week I had the pleasure of joining my fellow “Stamp and Stretch” team, lead by Pam Strobel, and 4,000 other demonstrators at the Stampin’ Up! Convention in Salt Lake City. What a great time.  Convention is exciting, fun, inspirational, and the best part is we get to meet new people from around the world.

While lots of demonstrators do lots of swaps, I swapped only with our team members. Here is the card I created for our team swap:

2014 SU Convention Swap

  • Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, and Calypso Coral colors remind me of the beach – sand, water, and shells
  • Three little pearls provide the perfect accent to this beachy card

Thanks for stopping in.  Enjoy, and happy stamping!
